Hi! My name is Aubrie (they/them) and I am secretly creating this GFM for my boyfriend, Leo. ❤︎⁠

The purpose of this fundraiser is to aid him in getting gender-affirming chest reconstruction (a.k.a. top surgery).

Who is this Leo guy? Lemme tell ya:

Leo is my very best friend, my life partner, and the most compassionate man you will ever meet. He is a passionate student and dedicated worker. He works as a Registered Behavioral Technician with child on the autism spectrum in early intervention ABA Therapy. He is an aspiring Occupational Therapist with a passion and drive for helping the under severed.

Leo comes from a family that believes the teachings of the pentecostal church and does not accept him for who he is. Through that hardship he remains a positive joy in the lives of everyone around him. He continues to serve and uplift others.

I cannot tell you his personal experience with gender dysphoria but I can tell you I’ve seen the agonizing effect it has on him. He has wished for this surgery for so long, thinking it may never be possible. With insurance, our new residence, our secure jobs, and a little community aid this can become a reality. ‪‪❤︎‬

Why GFM? Great question!

At the end of July 2026, Leo and I were displaced from the home we had been living in for nearly two years. I then went no contact with my parents and Leo already has a hard time getting ahold of his family. We both work special education jobs and are pursuing our Bachelors degrees. With this sudden displacement and new routine costs, we are no longer able to save money in the quantity as before. Our drive, discipline, and work ethic have no changed, we will continue to work toward this goal. I would just love to be able to surprise him and bring a weight off his chest (literally and figuratively lol), with your help that can be possible!

Cost breakdown and transparency:

His insurance deductible has not been met. He does have routine lab visits with a copay and therapy sessions with a copay that will go toward that deductible throughout the year. Surgery is hopefully scheduled for the end of this year. This number is estimated less than what is needed.

Surgery ✂️: $7,500

Leo is an RBT working with children ages two to eleven, meaning he will not be able to return to work for a while due to restrictions. His job does not have any paid medical leave and only offers FMLA (unpaid protected job). I can assure that his sick hours and PTO hours are being saved for recovery, after those run out (both cap at 40hrs, 2 wks) he will not have an income. While I am able to support him, his income loss will have a negative impact. This is just the anticipated cost for the remaining 5 weeks of recovery.
