My name is Lenora, and I am an independent driver working full time for Lyft. This past January, I contracted COVID and was out of work for about two weeks with no pay. Just as I was starting to recover, February brought even more challenges—I ended up in the emergency room twice and had to follow up with my family doctor, a neurologist, and a cardiologist. Each time I was unable to work, there was no income coming in, and the bills kept piling up.
Because of these setbacks, my power has been shut off (NIPSCO), and I am now a couple of months behind on my mortgage and several other bills. It’s been overwhelming trying to keep up, and I’m reaching out for help from anyone who is able and willing to support me during this difficult time.
The funds raised will help me get back on my feet by restoring the power in my home, catching up on my mortgage, and, if possible, replacing the food that was lost and paying other essential bills. First of all, I want to thank you for taking the time to read my story. Any amount you’re able to give is greatly appreciated, and your prayers are needed and received. Thank you, thank you, thank you all for your support, and may God return the blessings.
