In 2022, I adopted Lenny from a rescue, and from the very first day, he has filled my life with so much joy. Lenny is the kind of dog who believes every person he meets is a new best friend. He greets everyone with a tail wag, a big smile, and as many kisses as he can sneak in. He truly has the sweetest, most loving soul.

Recently, Lenny swallowed a squeaker that became lodged in his intestines. He needed emergency surgery to save his life. I rushed him to the emergency vet, and thankfully the surgeons were able to help him—but the costs have quickly added up. I already have thousands of dollars in vet bills on my credit card, and Lenny is still being monitored at the hospital. I don’t yet know what the final total will be. As a divorced single pet parent, things were already tight financially before this unexpected emergency.

Asking for help is not easy, but Lenny means everything to me, and I want to give him every chance to recover and live the happy life he deserves.
