Not Lenny!
Yes, Lenny.
He's entered the terrible twos and to celebrate a year from his Gotcha date, he decided to fracture his pelvis in three places. Impressive.
I honestly have no idea how he mangled himself so badly. Originally, I thought he got spooked and caught his toe on the carpet. How I wish that were the case. But, no. As they say, "go big or go home," so Lenny went for the big break.
Even with his injury he has remained "stoic" to quote the vets. He wants to play and be his silly high-flying self again. He refuses to leave my side and I won't leave his. If Velcro was a breed, he'd be it.
He's currently at Tufts waiting to get the hip ball joint removed so his bones can heal and to reduce the chance of chronic pain and other stress fractures.
That, unfortunately, is what brings us here today.
The total estimated bill for the surgery is $6-$8,000. I know money is tight for many people right now, myself included but if you're able to help with even a few dollars to help give poor little, lanky Lenny the quality of life he deserves for the long life he has ahead of him we would be beyond grateful for the assistance.
