Lenny purchased the property in 2018 and immediately began working to make it a home. He got the well going and spent countless weekends repairing the foundation, gutting the house, and tackling every project himself. After years of hard work and dedication, Lenny and Alicia were finally able to move in during 2021. Even after moving in, they continued to improve the house, including installing gutters on the morning of the fire.

That morning, Lenny and Alicia were at home when the Stinky Fire struck. Lenny quickly grabbed his cats and dog, trying to save what he could, but was told to evacuate immediately. Alicia, in the chaos, lost sight of Lenny’s tail lights in the thick smoke and went off the road a couple of times trying to escape. The fire destroyed everything they had worked so hard for, and to make matters worse, they did not have insurance to help them recover.

Now, Lenny and Alicia are facing the daunting task of starting over. The funds raised will help them replace essentials like clothing, furniture, and household goods, find temporary housing, and begin rebuilding their lives.
