My name is Anita Cusack , Volunteer for Goodna and District Junior Rugby League.
I have had the absolute pleasure of being involved with Lennox and getting to know his beautiful family for several years, and anyone who knows him understands just how special he is — a kind, hardworking young man who brings energy, friendship, and heart to everyone around him.
On Friday, 13 February 2026, a normal afternoon turned into every family’s nightmare. Lennox and his mate Eli were simply grabbing an after-school snack when an out-of-control car struck them, causing devastating and critical injuries. The incident, which has since been reported on Channel 9 News, has shaken our entire community.
Both boys are now fighting bravely in hospital. While they are showing incredible strength, they face a long and uncertain road to recovery. The journey ahead will include ongoing medical treatment, rehabilitation, and many challenges that no young person or family should have to face alone. The full extent of their recovery — and the financial burden that comes with it — is still unknown.
Lennox and Eli are not only mates; they are also promising young rugby league players here in Ipswich, Queensland. Lennox proudly represents the Goodna Eagles, and Eli plays for the Norths Tigers. On the field, they are team mates to many — determined, resilient, and full of potential. Off the field, they are sons, brothers, friends, classmates, and much-loved members of our community.
Right now, their families need support more than ever. We are coming together to help ease the financial pressure so parents and loved ones can focus on what truly matters: being by their boys’ sides and supporting their recovery every step of the way.
Every donation, no matter the size, will go toward helping both families manage medical expenses, rehabilitation costs, and the unexpected challenges that come with such a life-changing event.
If you are unable to donate, please consider sharing this page and keeping Lennox, Eli, and their families in your thoughts during this incredibly difficult time.
Our rugby league community is built on teamwork, and now it’s our turn to stand together for two of our own.
Thank you for your kindness, generosity, and support.
