Help Lenn Hulsey Beat Cancer in 2021 - GoWIN LENN!
My name is Sabra Grainger, and I want to tell you about someone I love and how you can love them, too.
On Dec. 28, 2020, I received the kind of news no one wants to hear...ever. My brother, (Saben) Ray Hulsey, called to tell me that his beautiful wife (my Sister-in-love), Lenn, has cancer.
I had seen them just a couple of months ago at Mom's house.
Their retirement plans had been put on hold for almost a year of Covid restrictions as they waited for travel to the Philippines to open up. They were disappointed, but it was Providential. Lenn had recently become a U.S. citizen in Dec. 2019, and they spent most of 2020 helping care for Mom and Dad Long...and the cows, too.
As they prepared to head home to be with Lenn's family. I knew she had not been feeling well, but had no idea.
No one did. We only realized how seriously ill she was after they returned to the Philippines, and she had to be had to be admitted to the hospital for excessive bleeding. That's when biopsies revealed stage 2 endometrial adenocarcinoma.
Lenn is scheduled for surgery on Thursday, Jan. 7 (that's Wednesday in the U.S.) to remove the cancer and discover the extent of its spread. With that information they will determine the best course of treatment in the months ahead.
Medical services in the Philippines are menu priced and paid up front or before leaving the hospital. The cost of the surgery is $4,000 and I am including another $4,000 to get the treatments started. They will have a more accurate number for the treatments after the surgery.
When I first heard the news, I just sat and cried. Then I began to pray and this idea came to mind. I got Ray's permission and made this Gofundme for them. Feel free to share, and thank you for praying with us for Ray and Lenn.
You can encourage and bless them by letting them know you are praying for them and for donating on this gofundme as the Lord leads you.
I will give updates, as I receive them. Check back to see how they are doing.
Thank you!
