Help Leni Get a Life-Changing Therapy Dog

My daughter Milena is 10 years old, and like most preteens, she is struggling socially and emotionally. Leni is autistic, has ADHD, a learning disability, and a severe speech delay.

She struggles to be understood by not only her peers but almost everyone she meets, and it takes a large blow to her self-esteem.

Her best friend Yoda died over a year ago, and she misses him dearly.

We've decided it's time for a dog again, but that the family, and especially Leni, would benefit from a therapy dog. Costs for a trained therapy dog are upwards of $10-30k, which is out of the question for us. The alternative is finding a pup that is trainable and paying for the training and certification ourselves, which totals about $6,000.

In addition to helping Leni, we plan to volunteer at local hospitals to give back to our community. Pet therapy helps so many people!

Why not adopt? We wish we could, but Leni is allergic to most breeds with the exception of long-haired Chihuahuas and doodle breeds. Lulu, the pup we have our hearts set on, is a mini Bernedoodle the breeder feels is highly trainable and well-equipped to become a therapy dog like some of her relatives.
