Many of you know LeNard (aka Len, Lenny, LMorrell, DJLMorrell, or Morrell) as a smart, funny, hardworking, talented musician/DJ and dedicated husband. He's incredibly loyal and devoted to his family, with a strong work ethic. Sharing this story is difficult, but here it goes.
Two years ago, LeNard was diagnosed with early-stage rectal cancer. He immediately began an aggressive treatment plan: five months of chemotherapy followed by a five-week combination of chemo and radiation. We're eternally grateful to the amazing team at Emory who cared for him throughout this journey.
You might have seen LeNard during this challenging time, completely unaware of what he was dealing with. That's the kind of man he is – he persevered, working diligently and maintained his usual high standards.
The treatments were successful, significantly shrinking the tumor. LeNard felt fantastic throughout 2022, but unfortunately, he's recently become sick again. Recent scans revealed the need for surgery, which will require several days in the hospital and at least a month of recovery. Since we lack paid time off or short-term disability, this presents a significant financial hurdle.
LeNard, a proud and humble man, hesitates to ask for help. However, this time, it's unavoidable. We're humbly asking for any amount you can contribute to support his healing and his return to a fulfilling life. He longs to play music, DJ, care for his home and garden, cook delicious meals for his wife, spend time with his loving family and attend concerts again – the things he's always cherished. LeNard is a kind-hearted soul who deeply values his community, work, and loved ones.
We express our immense gratitude in advance, and to those who've already reached out with support, thank you from the bottom of our hearts.
