Help Lena and Vika get to Canada

I'm Anne-Marie Brunet, a family physician from Ottawa currently living in Warsaw, Poland. We moved here 2 months ago for my husband's work. Our family has had the chance to welcome into our home Lena and her 9 year old daughter Wiktoria. They're from Kharkiv, Ukraine. They escaped the war in early March with only one suitcase.

 

They've received their visa for Canada this week, which is fantastic news. A wonderful family from Quebec city has accepted to host them. They need to purchase their flight tickets soon but do not have the funds. Government charters are now fully booked, and being on the wait list could mean weeks and months of waiting. Having been in Poland for over 90 days, they cannot transit through the EU or US. The only option is the flight from Warsaw to Toronto with LOT airlines, which is currently 2300$ one way, per person.

 

I am hoping to raise 10 000$ to cover the flights and give them some help to purchase clothes when they get to Canada.

 

If I manage to raise over 10 000$, I will use the money to help the next family.
