Help Lemon and her family as she battles cancer
Lemon (aka Sarah Nicole Lemon) is fierce and funny and kind. She’s the friend you’d want by your side in any fight (from apocalypse to soccer game to dark night of the soul). And now she and her family (her husband and four sons ages 3 – 16) need our help as she fights for her life.
Lemon had an emergency tumor excision and hysterectomy in December for ovarian cancer, which turned out to be hypercalcemic small cell carcinoma. This is a beast of a cancer, rare and aggressive. Less than 40 people a year in the US get this kind, and the mean life expectancy—even when catching it in stage 1—is 35 months.
Starting treatment as soon as possible is the key to knocking it out and beating those odds. Lemon is undergoing her first round of chemo as I write this. She will be doing 6 rounds of this (3 days of chemo each round, 3 weeks off in between), followed by a stem cell transplant. The doctors say this regime, starting early like she is, gives her a good prognosis.
Please consider donating to help Lemon and her family with the financial burden that comes with this kind of medical crisis. Because of the intensity of the treatment, Lemon will miss a lot of work, and her husband Kyle will often need to miss work in order to be by her side.
Your donations will go toward the family’s living expenses during Lemon’s treatment, including:
• Financial strain of Lemon being away from work
• Supplementing Kyle’s income so that he can take time off to be with her as much as possible
• Support for their four children during this time
• Necessities like groceries and bills
• Medical costs
Alleviating the financial burden on this family is essential to helping Lemon fight for her life.
Your support, in any amount, is a blessing. Thank you.
