Help Lemery, Batangas PH Survive During Devastating Floods
Donation protected
We are asking for any amount of help for my wife’s family’s community in the Philippine town of Lemery, Batangas. There are over 50 dead so far in an historic level of flooding in their town.
We live in Bellingham, WA, USA. Her parents and extended family (in the Philipines) have moved to the upper levels of a school to keep from drowning. No one has slept for 36 hours as they have nothing but children’s desks to sit at and pray for some assistance in the form of water, food, and a ceasing of the non stop rains.
The homes in the photo was the home where my wife was raised, and the home behind that was her aunt’s home. The homes were built little by little over decades, Diop at by dollar, and are now a total loss, obviously. They and their townspeople have no water, no food, no light, no clothes, no food, no power, no cell service, no beds, and little hope for the immediate future.
These are immensely kind and hardworking people. Those possessions and homes were all they had, after sacrificing everything for their children to get educated. And now their remaining material survival resources have been destroyed.
We are obviously going to help all we can personally, but there is an entire city of people that have lost everything, with a government that has very little resources to help restore a livable condition for the community. The US Dollars go a long way in the Philippines. So even just $20 could buy a family a set of dry clothes. We will transfer the funds to my wife’s mother, Florida DeRoxas in the Philippines, and she will distribute the funds broadly from a list of stricken families of Lemery, Batangas, Philippines. There are currently 172 families on her list.
