Help Le’la with Medical Needs

Our mother Lela Raymond is experiencing some health problems with her heart. She recently switched jobs and has not been with Community Connections long enough to receive FMLA, medical coverage or leave sharing. She is not able to work at this time and has no income due to the circumstances. She has applied for Medicaid and Bridge health but has not received any aid from either program. She and our father used up any monitory/food stamps when our father was paralyzed in 2008. She took care of him for the first five years of his recovery and then returned to work to support us. She has testing that needs to be done in order to find out what is wrong. But because she has no medical coverage or money to pre pay for the testing the hospital has refused to do the test needed. It is likely she will be out of work for some time. And doesn’t have the means to pay for those tests. For the past twenty five years she has volunteered in the community on several boards, fundraising for community members and coaching the youth in the community giving countless hours. She has been caring for people with disabilities and our elders since 2016. We are hoping to raise money for her medical needs as well as money to help with bills and food.
