Hi, my name is Lela! If you are reading this, I appreciate you taking the time to do so.

 

At the end of 2020, I got into an accident that resulted in the roots of my two front teeth completely fracturing in half and two of my bottom teeth chipping. Due to not having insurance, I was unaware of the accident's severity leaving me unable to get them correctly looked at and assessed until 2021. Once I got my teeth checked out, I learned that my front teeth have horizontal root fractures, leaving them unsalvageable. I also had damaged a surrounding tooth, which needed an immediate root canal to help prevent further pain and damage. After the root canal, I was told the next step would be extraction of my existing teeth and then having implants and temporary crowns placed until my mouth has healed for permanent crowns. This entire procedure will cost in total $13,863. Unfortunately, I learned that my insurance could only cover $1,500 of the cost leaving me unsure how much I could genuinely save since I am a full-time student and can only work part-time. Since my appointment in 2021, I have been able to save up $3,000 to put towards the procedure and am currently still saving whatever I can. Though I want to pay this all on my own and wish I could wait until I could save the full amount, my dentist has made it clear to me that I cannot wait any longer due to the severity of my situation and the possibility of it causing future issues to surrounding teeth. I currently experience discomfort and pain on a daily basis, and I just hope I can start the process as soon as possible.
