Help Leio (homeless) 17 with Housing
Donation protected
Hi, my name is Leio (17FTM). My pronouns are they/he. I am 17 years old and currently homeless in Salt Lake City. I need money to afford housing when I turn 18 in February and to buy a small electric solar generator.
I am trying to raise $150-$200 for a generator so I can live out of my bike trailer. With it, I can use an electric blanket to stay warm and charge my phone, which would help me avoid the inadequate shelters that are available here. These shelters offer only basic shelter and do not provide many helpful resources.
I became homeless because the Layton City police, along with some issues from Farmington, made it impossible for me to live with my dad and his parents. My grandparents refuse to let me return due to fighting, and i wont come back due to their abuse, and neglect in the home. I have basically no support or family left to turn to. I am scared and currently unemployed. I have been trying to find a job, but it's difficult without a high school diploma or GED. I have also been selling my art, but that hasn’t gone well.
I want to move to Oregon, preferably to Corvallis or Eugene, where I could earn better pay and have people who want to support me. This would help cover moving costs, rent, and legal fees when I turn 18, as I need to sue the police for mishandling my situation and violation of my rights.
My dad gives me about $100-$150 every two weeks for food, which is not enough. For now, I spend nights at a shelter, but I need to leave Utah soon to find better medical care and job opportunities.
I hope to improve my future, and I am asking for donations on GoFundMe as a last resort.
