I need your help to break a world record and continue my crusade to raise awareness of mental health.

In November 2022, I intend to break the current world record for the ‘Greatest Distance Cycled in Seven Days’ by a significant margin, showing that depression can affect anyone but that you are never alone and it doesn't have to stop you from reaching your own life goals.

This epic challenge is built on the back of two extraordinary feats. In 2017, I completed a circumnavigation of the globe – a bicycle journey of seven years across 51 countries and over 44,000 miles. Then, in 2018, I set a new world record for The Fastest Cycle Across Europe.

These adventures all have their roots in depression. As a young man, having met society’s expectations of a normal life, I found myself struggling in a world that felt lonely and unfulfilling. So, I set off to help find a cure for myself. Cycling around the world and breaking a world record freed me temporarily from the chains of depression. These challenges are also the conduit to raise thousands of pounds for that all-important mental health research charity, MQ.

Mental health is increasingly becoming a challenge for us all, especially since the Covid-19 global pandemic. This is why I must continue to challenge myself, keep awareness high and show people suffering from mental ill-health there is a way forward.

I need your help to get my project off the ground by providing much-needed funds to equip myself and the team to break this record.

When funds are in place, I will be working hard with my sponsors and MQ, the mental health charity, on our Seven Days Of (S)miles campaign. This will coincide with Mental Health Awareness Week to encourage the nation to join me in seven days of activity and in turn, raise money for mental health research.

Please help me get my project off the ground and be part of my challenge by helping me raise the £20,000 needed to fund my record attempt.
