Help Leigh Get Housed

In case we haven't met my name is Leigh. I'm a 40 something mother, cat person, artist, content creator, disabled, autistic/ADHD human.

Before I get into the backstory let me say what I am fundraising for:

I am fundraising so that I can fix the suspension on my 5th wheel. It catastrophically failed on it's way to me due to old age and wear and tear. It has to be replaced and rebuilt. In order for it to be safe to move the 5th wheel to get it to where I'll be living in it and to get it parked the suspension needs to be fixed.

The backstory of why I am in this situation:

I am on disability because of a combination of health issues that limit me. My fixed income is not enough even for low income housing in my area. I have applied for section 8 but it takes up to a decade to get it. A friend kindly offered me the opportunity to rent from her at a lower rate. I did so and proceeded to make repairs and make the house better than it was when I moved in. During this time I was still relying on my savings because the rent was still too high.

After a year she raised the rent by $1500 without ever talking to me to tell me she was not happy with the arrangement. I was given no opportunity to work with her and was forced to move out. A six year friendship was destroyed. My doctors are here and I'm finally making some progress in managing my health issues so moving away from my support system feels dangerous.

I did a LOT of reading about RVs and decided to invest my savings into a housing option that seems viable and flexible. Unfortunately during this process so many things have gone wrong that the costs have gone way above my budget and I have gone deeply into debt. Finding out that the suspension has to be replaced has been a huge blow. It is basically the final step before I can FINALLY move in.

I have been staying with a friend and the owner of the house has made it clear that I need to be out by the end of the month. I may need to use some of the funds for temporary housing for myself and my cat, Amos.
