Hello friends and family, thank you for taking a moment to read and get updated on my precious family!
A few weeks ago Leia started getting sick, she declined rather quickly, it took a few urgent care and ER trips, untill they finally found out why she was losing so much weight, unable to keep food down, unable to stay awake, and having fevers. She was diagnosed with Entrerocolitis, (as a result of an infection or allergy, they're still working on that piece) air pockets between the layers of her intestines. She's now on day 2 of her hospitalization, on bowel rest, and still losing weight. This illness can take several weeks to recover from, and usually a lengthy hospitalization. So between mom and dad taking shifts staying with her at the hospital and at home with sissy, they will not be working until further notice. I would not only love prayers and healing vibes for our girl, but if anyone is able to give, even just a few bucks for mom and dad with all the gas, parking, lost work time, and the hospital bills that will come, I would be so so grateful. As a parent this is the hardest thing to go through, watching your sick, and already dainty babe get so sickly tiny and fighting to recover, the least I can do is help physically with my presence and possibly provide some financial stress relief for my family.
Thank you all who are keeping my sweet granddaughter, and family in your prayers, checking in on everyone, & and showing up for us! I'm so grateful for our small but mighty village! we are truly blessed!
I would also like to add, she has an excellent care team, which we are extremely grateful for, they are taking such good care of her! Also she has been an absolute CHAMP! She's so brave, and much more fierce then her gentle personality reflects!
UPDATE: LEIA IS HOME!! It'll take her tiny body time fully recover, to gain back weight and strength, and be ready to go back to school. Baby steps! but everyday she's able to eat a little bit more, walk a little more, and we're starting to see her smile again! Thank you for all the support!
