Hi I’m Sarah and I’ve started this gofundme for my very close friend of 23 years, Leiah.

Leiah has been a single mother to her 14 year old daughter, Cadence, for all of those 14 years. Recently in March, Cadence experienced a medical emergency that landed her in the hospital for a couple of weeks. To protect Cadence’s privacy, I will not disclose the details of her health, but the recommendation from her doctors has been that she be monitored at all times. This has put Leiah in quite a predicament. She has had to take a leave of absence from her job in order to care for Cadence and monitor her around the clock. As parents we know this is exhausting, but as the sole parent it is so much more than that. Leiah currently has no stream of income. She’s exhausted her savings to keep the bills paid. In addition to normal expenses, she now has multiple copays for all of Cadence’s regular doctor’s appointments. On top of this, if she doesn’t continue to pay her bi-weekly insurance premium, she will lose her health insurance that she so desperately needs.

Leiah isn’t one to ask people for help. I had to convince her to allow me to set this up. But the truth is, she needs this help more than anything right now, and there are so many people who love her and Cadence, that I know would be willing to show their support. Please help me raise the funds so that she can focus on her daughter’s health and not worry about being crippled by her finances.
