final update :(
Leia passed away yesterday, it was the hardest decision we’ve ever had to make. But her mass had gotten bigger and had gotten its way into the roof of her mouth. She could barely eat or let alone open her mouth. Her last few days I could feel her begging me to end her pain. We are completely devastated and grieving very hard. We have 3 cats but Leia was literally our emotional support animal, she would always come to us if we were sad and always wanted cuddles. She gave us all the biscuits when we needed it. She was the sweetest angel to come into our lives. She will forever be in our hearts.
Of course we are in so much debt from all the vet visits/tests and treatments. Any support or contributions are greatly appreciated and we love you all very much thank you again
*UPDATE*****
She has not been doing well. She had barely been eating and had been licking her bum a lot to the point of extreme irritation. We took her to the vet again today, they cleaned out the glands in her bum and said that the color of the secretion was not good. We need to test her poop, they cleaned up her bum and gave us a powder to put on it but we need to put a cone on her to keep her from excessively licking it. They checked out her mass and although it's gone down in size it's moved closer to her mouth/jaw area and she was very concerned so she referred me to a neurologist specialist, we made the consultation appointment for this upcoming Friday. We are hoping for good news, but they did say if we need to do an MRI it will cost anywhere between $5,500-$6,500. She has not been herself and it's been so hard.****
Leia, my beloved cat, has been my world for over eight years. She’s not just a pet—she’s been my and my boyfriend’s support animal and best friend, always knowing when we were sick or sad and comforting us in ways only she could. Recently, Leia’s health has taken a devastating turn. It started with a mouth disease that required the removal of all her infected teeth just two and a half weeks ago. While we were dealing with that, she suffered a horrendous ear infection that wouldn’t go away. Now, a mass or tumor has grown rapidly in her ear and throat area, affecting her brain and cognitive functions. She’s not her normal self, and it’s heartbreaking to see her struggle.
We’ve done everything we can to help Leia, but the costs have been overwhelming. We’ve nearly maxed out all our credit cards trying to keep up with her surgeries, treatments, and medications. The financial strain is immense, but our love for Leia keeps us fighting for her recovery. The funds from this fundraiser will go directly toward her surgery, ongoing treatments, medications, and paying down the CareCredit debt we’ve accumulated for her care.
To anyone who even visits this page, and especially to those who donate or share, I am deeply grateful. Leia has given us so much comfort and love, and all we want is for her to get better. Your support means the world to us, and every bit helps bring Leia closer to healing. Thank you for being here, for caring, and for giving Leia a chance to return to the happy, loving cat she’s always been.
