Legend is my bright and determined 7-year-old son. Recently, he was diagnosed with vision problems that, if left untreated, could impact his future in significant ways. His brain struggles to process right from left, and he has difficulty focusing on words while reading, which means he sees double—something he has experienced his whole life. Despite these challenges, Legend is an exceptional reader, reading well above his grade level at around 182 words per minute. I often imagine how much further he could go if he could see without struggling. These vision issues also affect his ability to ride a bike, scooter, or even do basic exercises, as his brain compensates by shutting off one eye to see more clearly.

We recently learned that vision therapy is essential for Legend, but the costs are overwhelming. The therapy requires weekly sessions for a year, and we have already covered the cost of his diagnosis and treatment plan. As a stay-at-home mom expecting our second child, these expenses are daunting, but we are determined to give Legend every opportunity to thrive. Your support will go directly toward his vision therapy, giving him the chance to overcome these challenges and reach his full potential.
