We truly hope this message finds all of you in good health. We know that these are difficult times, but we like to think that the memories from diving with us in Nusa Lembongan can make things a bit easier and put a smile on your face.
At the moment we are not able to dive due to government restrictions. Even if it is a great chance for the marine life to restore itself we would all love to go back out there.
As you are well aware, the tourism industry has stopped all over the world. Some countries are now starting their tourism activities but Indonesia is still far from it. Nusa Lembongan island hasn't escaped this fate and has been in lock down since Mid March 2020.
Unfortunately, the government doesn't seem to be lifting their restrictions any time soon, meaning we are going to miss our high season and the more valuable months of the year for our fellow workers. While we were able to effectively control the spread of the Corona Virus with no reported cases in our island, the basic living conditions have dearly degraded and are now a concern for us all.
Legend Diving has kept its full staff and continues to pay them their basic salaries. However, it's not enough to support full families without any other means of income. The Indonesian government doesn't provide any financial compensation and they have nowhere else to turn to get help.
On behalf of our Indonesian staff, we pledge you to help them in this difficult moment by placing a donation. They don't need much to go by so any help is welcome, even 5$ will make a big difference!
There was a time where they look after you and give you an amazing diving experience. Now it is the time where you can show your appreciation back to them.
Once again, any small donation makes a difference. The money raised will be spread along our staff to support them and their families in Nusa Lembongan, Nusa Penida, Bali, and other regions of Indonesia.
Thanks for taking the time to read this and hopefully we will be able to get back to a "new normal" life soon on earth and underwater.
