Donation protected

Leena Mae is the rescued 2 year old pup of Marisa, Rich and Grayson Steffke. She was 7 weeks old when they adopted her from the Humane Society and came to live with the Steffkes when Marisa was pregnant with their son, Grayson. Leena quickly became the sweetheart of their neighborhood and was even dubbed, "the mayor of Truckee" for her friendly, outgoing personality and desire to say hello to all who passed by.
Leena Mae is the big sister to Grayson, who is almost 2 years old. Grayson has a rare endocrine disorder and has been in and out of hospitals and doctors offices his whole life. Luckily, he has had Leena by his side to provide comfort and unconditional love to him and his parents.
Leena, who is enrolled in the Alliance for Therapy Dogs training program, goes to school with Marisa everyday, who teaches 2nd grade in Truckee. Leena Mae's mellow, gentle and loving personality has been a huge part of providing children (even outside of the 2nd grade class) at Marisa's school with pet assisted therapy. When a student is upset, Leena Mae can be found walking over to him or her and putting her head on their knee as if to say, "it's okay, I'm here." She has a natural calmness and grounding about her and the students of the school absolutely love Leena.
Please help support this local family in getting the best medical care possible for their very unique, special and loved Leena Mae.
