My name is Tyler, and we’re looking for help to fund our wonderful pup, Leela’s knee realignment surgery.
We rescued Leela from the Harbor Humane Society when she was 8 weeks old. They had found her on the streets of Grand Rapids all alone. We couldn’t have found a better blessing! She is the sweetest dog we’ve ever known. She’s constantly happy to meet everyone and looks forward to spending as much time as she can at her local dog park.
Leela has developed a heavy limp in her back right leg. We took her to her vet for evaluation, where they provided X-rays that showed a troublesome birth defect, curved tibias. With the curvature, her knees tend to slide out of socket. This can lead to arthritis and potential TPLO (Dog ACL) injuries. She will be needing surgery to strengthen her ligaments in her knee to keep it in place and prevent it from sliding, causing further damage.
Unfortunately, the surgery is very expensive, and we’re in a position where we need some assistance.
Thank you for taking the time to read Leela’s story. We are beyond grateful for any help we can receive. We just want to provide our girl with the healthy, pain-free life we can, so she can enjoy her days playing fetch, tug-of-war, and running around the park with all of her friends.
