If you have been to Nativ Cafe in White Salmon, you have likely met or been served by Lee Sekaquaptewa . Lee is an artist, Multi-Tribal Native American, community organizer, and friend.

Recently, Lee had to take a month off work after the unexpected passing of his beloved mom. During this time, he’s been caring for his family, helping with arrangements, and holding space for others while working through his own grief.

As many of us know, taking time away from hourly work — especially right now— is so stressful. Lee has given so much to this community over the years: through his art, his ability to bring people together and strengthen the community, and his steady presence that makes others feel seen and cared for.
