My name is Lee, and I am a trans person living in Newland, North Carolina. Due to the ongoing and rising threat against trans people, as well as the increase in cost of living and lack of affordable housing, I have run out of resources to support myself here in Appalachia. I am seeking financial support to relocate to the west coast, where I believe I will have a better chance of survival and the opportunity to rebuild my life in a safer environment.
The funds raised will go directly toward covering my moving expenses. Since being displaced by Hurricane Helene, the fallout from the storm as well as numerous setbacks have continued to cause instability in my life and have depleted my resources. I have been priced out of the town I have called home for 15 years, and I have run out of options for finding enough income to sustain myself here. Relocating to an area with more access to resources and more support for the trans community is my best hope for finding stability again, recovering from the impact of the hurricane, and starting over in a place where I might be able to thrive.
I am asking for support to help get me back on my feet and give me a better chance at finding stability again. Any help you can offer will make a meaningful difference in my journey. Thank you for your kindness and support.
