Rebuild Guad and Co: Help Lee Nelson Restore a Place of Joy

Donation protected
On the morning of the devastating flood in Kerr County, my dear friend Lee Nelson’s beloved store, Guad and Co, was flooded and destroyed. Built with love and vision, Guad and Co was more than just a store—it was a haven of connection, creativity, and joy.

Known for its custom embroidery, screen printing, and curated goods from small Texas makers, Guad and Co celebrated the pride and spirit of the Texas Hill Country that Lee holds so dear. You could always find something there that reflected the beauty of this region and the people who call it home.

Lee is the kind of person who champions others. She pours heart and joy into everything she creates and into every person she meets. She, Jeff, and their four boys have given so much to this community. Their lives are deeply interwoven with the people of Kerr County.

Right now, Lee longs to get back to what she does best: creating meaningful, personalized goods that lift people up, even (and especially) in the midst of hardship. She would never ask for help on her own, so I’m asking on her behalf.

Funds raised will help Lee:
  • Replace essential equipment and supplies so she can get back to making
  • Restore store furnishings and inventory
  • Reopen a space that brings light, comfort, and creativity to a community in pain

As Lee said:

"Everywhere you look, people are suffering and there is overwhelming loss. I would love to offer a sliver of hope for others."

And for those who knew and loved Renee “Nay Nay,” one of the Mystic campers who was a beautiful presence in the shop and in Lee’s life, this rebuilding effort is also in her honor.

A local financial advisor has generously offered to help Lee at no cost, ensuring that any donations are thoughtfully prioritized as she navigates the challenging process of rebuilding.

Let’s help Lee restore this space—not just for her, but for all of Kerr County and the people who love to come here.

Every donation, share, and word of encouragement means so much. Thank you for standing with her.

In the interest of transparency as requested by gofundme, My name is Shannon De Leon and I live in Austin. Lee and I have been friends for more than 25 years and the funds raised will go directly to helping rebuild her store as detailed above.
