Help Lee Get the In-Home Care She Needs
Donation protected
Hi, friends. Our dear Lee is in the battle of her life with stage IV cancer. After making it through the last 4 years Covid-free, the last thing she expected was this diagnosis. For 10 years she has been a part of our chosen family, now we need to rally around her for this unexpected health crisis.
She is currently bed-ridden, and while PT is working on getting her back on her feet, in-home care is needed (and expensive). Any help you can give is much- appreciated!
F.A.Q.s (Frequently Asked Questions)
what kind of cancer does Lee have?
Lee was diagnosed with metastatic non-small-cell lung cancer that aggressively morphed into her blood and bones, specifically her spine.
She had two emergency surgeries to remove the tumors that were breaking her spinal column and cutting off her nerves, causing what she thought was sciatica; but if left untreated would have crippled her.
where have funds gone so far?
- A week’s worth of in-home care
- medical equipment such as a walker, bathroom safety bars/chair, bed rails
- vitamin water and healthy snacks to encourage her to eat while in the hospital.
- cleaning ladies to care for/tidy her apartment while she’s been unable.
- snacks/goodies for the incredible nurses and care team at WHC
- medical bills such as prescriptions, out-of-pocket costs, and therapy.
where will funds be directed now that she is deceased?
- funds for her care will now be used for her funeral costs and final medical expenses
- costs incurred to make her final wishes a reality
- any remaining funds will be used to set up a charitable account for those who aren’t as fortunate as she was to help with their medical bills in the fight against cancer.
