Update on Led
Thanks to your support Led has been able to receive the chemotherapy he needed to live. These past 6 months Led has returned back to his happy self and has been responding to chemo extremely well. The fluid in his lungs disappeared completely and the 5cm mass that was once in the centre of his chest xrays show is completely gone. I am very proud of my boy for fighting and being so strong. Only 30% of cats make it through chemo treatment, and he is one of them so for this I am grateful. These past two weeks however Led has been fighting off what the vets think is an infection. He has been on antibiotics with hopes of it clearing up however this week I noticed him digressing. Sleeping alot more and irregular breathing patterns. This week Led was taken in where they drained his lungs again as there was a moderate amount of fluid. Upon collecting a sample of the fluid they noticed another mass 3cm on his lymph node. Currently Led is feeling a bit better with the fluid out and we are awaiting results. They believe that if it’s an infection, they can treat it with antibiotics. However, if the cancer is back, they will have to adjust his chemo treatment. Because he had such a remarkable recovery with the chemo if it is back, I would like to move forward with this.

This all being said I am asking for your help once again! The Christmas miracle and birthday wish I’m praying for is for my boy to make it (while still living comfortably) till warmer weather arrives. Led’s fav place on earth is our backyard, my wish is when he’s at the end to have a vet come to the house to put him down in the backyard, in my arms. I will be laying him to rest in the country on the same land my brother is burried. Please take a second to share Led’s story or donate! Anything helps

Violet & Led

I first met Led when I was volunteering at the Humane Society. I had the pleasure of meeting a lot of cats as a volunteer, but the moment I walked up to Led's cage I knew he was special. He reached out his paw and put it right on my nose, as if he was choosing me. It was at that moment that I knew we were going to be best friends forever. Led was around eight months old when I adopted him from the shelter. This brown little fluff ball with a crazy obsession for food. It took a lot of training, probably from past trauma, but I finally got him behaving like a gentleman when it came to feeding time. The trick I incorporated was having him give me head butts anytime food was involved. Breakfast time...boom, head butt. A little treat... boom, head butt. It wasn't long before I had him giving me multiple head butts for the tiniest treat (yes I would make him work for it ). Meal time became a thing where he would be head butting every single object in the kitchen before I'd serve him. Over time my kitchen had stains of his common head butt spots and Led's headbutts soon advanced to jumping ones.

Led has been my best friend for the past 14 years. We have been through every move, every breakup, every tough time together. I can't imagine coming home and not having him here. Since an early age, Led has had a love for the backyard and his outside time. It is often difficult to bring him in at night, as he will fall asleep in his favorite chair, breathing in the outdoors and protecting the backyard like it's his domain.

Last week I noticed Led was dry heaving/wheezing as if he was letting out a hairball, but nothing was coming out. He never had a hairball in his life, so I knew instantly something was wrong. I immediately took him to the emergency vet to find out some answers. We waited 4 hours to be seen, and when I finally introduced him to the vet, they complimented him. They said he was very handsome and healthy looking. "He looks 6, not 14". The X-rays showed that there was a build-up of fluid around his lungs, and that further testing would be needed to determine if it was cancerous, and to drain the fluid around his lungs. Led made it through sedation and the procedure, though he was a little shaken up from all of it. When the vet returned she informed me that the tests came back inconclusive for lymphoma. Led has just successfully completed his second surgery today where the doctor got a sample/scraping of the mass. He has been diagnosed with cancer and we are currently waiting for the results on which cancer it is.

Your support will cover his medical bills for all the testing and give him the best chance at a healthy future. Every donation-no matter how small- will go directly towards Led's medical care. If you're not in a position to give, simply sharing this campaign would mean the world to us. Led is a healthy boy and a fighter, and with your support, I'm hopeful we can give him the chance he deserves to keep living a happy, healthy life.

Thank you so much for taking the time to read his story, from the bottom of our hearts- Led and I are truly grateful.

Headbutts and hugs,
Violet and Led.
