I, Eli Tareq, am raising funds for my friend in Beirut who has had a really hard few years, particular since October 7th, when Israhell escalated its bmbing of Lebanon.
Their expensive HIV meds that used to be covered by an NGO are no longer covered and they started having to pay it out of pocket. Because they couldn't afford to pay for it themself, they reached out for help, and I've been helping them ever since. They have tried to get more work to be able to pay for their larger expenses but their father stole their passport and other ID in a homophobic move to punish them and they can't work without any ID. They also suffered a homophobic attack a few months ago and had to spend lots on hospital bills. Medical expenses are very expensive in Lebanon given most people cannot afford health insurance. Thankfully, we found out that the NGO that lost their funding because of the events of Oct. 7th (an American org) and Hezb*llah's more active watching of the ports, will once again be able to offer free medication to HIV+ individuals in Lebanon as of January so we will be able to stop fundraising soon. Please help me get my friend the last bits of $$ they need for the rest of their expenses.
They currently need helping paying for:
November meds - $1000 USD (I paid for these in advance but can't afford to absorb the cost)
December meds - $1000 USD
Annual tests - $1500 USD
Renewing all their paperwork - ~$1000-$1500 USD.
Every little bit helps.
With much love and solidarity!
Eli Tareq
