Help LEAP build a new Halfway Community Hub
Donation protected
Work is underway to convert the former Halfway Library into a fully-functioning Community Hub that Halfway can be proud of.
But we need your help to get the building into tip-top shape.
As we go through the renovation work, we are finding more jobs to be done to bring the building up to a standard that is fit for purpose.
There is no kitchen – just a sink. There is only one toilet that is well beyond repair. The electrics leave a lot to be desired. The plumbing has, quite literally, thrown up some problems and the building fabric requires a great deal of attention. And that is before we get to the upgrading work.
To make the new Hub work, we need to build new, accessible toilets, upgrade the plumbing, install new central heating, build new kitchens and storage spaces, build a moveable dividing wall, lower and install a new suspended ceiling, totally re-plaster and then decorate, furnish and equip it.
We are slowly getting there, but the amount of work needed and the cost of doing all this is growing.
That is why we are asking people if they could donate to, or fundraise for, this vital work.
We have set up this GoFundMe page where people can donate funds for these works. But that’s not all.
Do you work for a builder or builder’s merchant and could help us get the maximum discount possible on goods?
Do you, or a family member, have a trade and could give us some of your time? Or do you have surplus goods we could use?
If you could help provide time or tools call us on 0141 [phone redacted] for more information
