Dear Supporters,
My name is Leanna Checchia. I am reaching out to share my story and seek assistance during an incredibly difficult time. Earlier this month, after enduring years of domestic abuse, I faced what I believe was a final attempt on my life. As a result, I sustained severe injuries and was diagnosed with a tibial plateau fracture, which required emergency surgery. In addition to these physical injuries, I am also coping with Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) stemming from the abuse.
I am a part-time student at Eastern Florida State College, working toward a nursing degree, while also employed as a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA). Unfortunately, I was let go from my CNA job during my recent hospital stay, leaving me without income to cover essential living expenses such as rent, car payments, insurance, groceries, and personal care.
Currently, due to my injuries, I am unable to work, per my doctor’s orders, and am residing in a nursing home while I undergo rehabilitation to regain my ability to walk. Despite these challenges, my bills still need to be paid, and I am at risk of losing my apartment and car, which are essential for my future stability and independence.
Any contribution, no matter the size, would be greatly appreciated as I navigate this difficult journey of healing and recovery. Thank you for your support and kindness. May God bless you all.
