Hello,

My name is Leandro, I'm 34 years old, and I've been living in the US since 2019. In 2021, I started experiencing heart symptoms. At first, I had a lot of stomach pain, and I could barely walk. That's when I decided to go to the emergency room because I couldn't stand the pain. When I got there, they discovered I had heart failure.

Soon after, I started treatments, and I've been fighting ever since. I have been in and out of the hospital for four years now. During this time, I have had a heart machine called a Left Ventricular Assist Device (LVAD) placed in order to help my heart pump blood.

It was at the beginning of 2025 that I started to feel sick again. So, I went to the emergency room. There, the doctors discovered a blood infection caused by the LVAD. They decided that I needed to remove the LVAD and get a heart transplant. Since then, I have been waiting.

I have been hospitalized for a little over four months now, waiting for a heart transplant. But I thank God that I am managing. I have a supportive family; my wife and two children, a 10 year old and a 14 year old, who have been with me every step of the way.

Whoever is able to help us, even just a little bit, I would be extremely grateful because at the moment, only my wife is bearing all of our expenses, including the household expenses. And it is difficult for her to manage alone. I am grateful to anyone who is able to donate. Even a share or a prayer is appreciated as well.
