I started feeling short of breath and was having a lot of trouble eating and breathing. My abdomen was swelling. I thought I was having heart issues, so I went into the ER November 6th, 2018. After having a CT scan and a few other exams the doctor told me that I had blood clots in my lungs and legs. He also told us that I had a cloudy mass over my liver. He recommended immediate transport to Evergreen Hospital Oncology as the Monroe facility did not have the resources to treat cancer. We spent 9 days as an inpatient, had 4.5 liters of fluid removed, had a biopsy and started chemotherapy. I have stage 3 ovarian cancer with bilateral DVT's and EM. I have a pending surgery to remove ovaries, fallopian tubes, uterus and any other affected tissue.
Thomas and I have only his monthly disability income to cover the mortgage and household expenses, which it doesn't even cover the mortgage. We are trying to obtain assistance from the state and there is a possibility that I may qualify for disability. In the meantime we need to maintain transportation to my weekly chemotherapy treatments and the ability to get to the grocery store, as well as keep a home to live in.
We do not have the health or resources to move, and even if we could still wouldn't have the income to go somewhere else. Right now I do not even have a good estimated time that I can go back to work. We just need to keep a roof over our heads and maintain the utilities to get through this. . I cannot even work part time as the weekly chemotherapy schedule makes it where I only feel well enough to go out about one day out of the week. Anything will help.
