Hi everyone! Thank you for taking the time to read this :)
My name is Leah, I am 16 years old and was born and raised in South Georgia. From a very young age, I’ve been fascinated by different cultures, specifically Asian cultures, and I knew that I wanted to go to a country within Asia someday. When I found out about becoming an exchange student, I immediately started doing research for about a year before actually applying. I ended up choosing South Korea for many reasons, some of those being the music and the rich culture of the country. Also because of the amazing stories that my father told me from when he was stationed there. Sadly, since he passed away in 2016, he will never see me go off to explore this wonderful country, but I know he is always next to me in spirit. For the past year and a half, I have been actively studying the Korean language to prepare myself for school abroad. My tuition is $15,000, as well as additional expenses for my cost of living (ex: food, phone bill, school uniform, etc..) As you can tell, It costs a lot to be an exchange student but I am more than willing to do what I can to get it done. My goal for this year is to save up as much money as I can in order to make sure everything is covered when I leave (February 2022). Anything that is donated is greatly appreciated, even sharing this fundraiser means a lot.
Again, thank you for taking time out of your day to read this. With the help from everybody who donates, I will be able to pursue my dream of becoming an exchange student in South Korea!
