Help Leah Pay Her Bills and Beat Retaliation
Donation protected
Leah has worked tirelessly for years to help win respect and living wages for herself and her coworkers at Via 313 in Austin, Texas. Together, they survived an intense union busting campaign and became one of the first unionized standalone restaurants in the American South. Leah was so trusted by her coworkers that they elected her the first president of Restaurant Workers United, which has gone on to help other restaurant workers organize and win groundbreaking campaigns across the country.
This past week, Leah was illegally fired from Via 313 in retaliation for her organizing efforts. Our Austin community rallied together and held a mass sip-in to protest the firing. But Leah was already fighting for a living wage at Via - and now she's lost her only source of income. Just as Leah has helped restaurant workers across America, she now needs our help to pay her rent and afford groceries. Let's show Via 313 and Savory that our community is strong and that we stand behind our leaders who are brave enough to stand up for our rights.
Please donate what you can and share with your friends and on social media to support Leah!
