UPDATE::

Leah is recovering at home from her last surgery. It’s expected to take 24 months or more for her to completely regain her mental and physical well being. We are hoping the titanium mesh replacing the skull bone is a successful and final option; if not, she will require yet another surgery to implant a titanium plate. She’s had three major surgeries and is extremely apprehensive to have a fourth. Each surgery requires a process of recovery that's mentally and physically demanding and is much like staring over agian.

Today, on October 14, Leah’s birthday, we launch this special gofundme to help her remember that she has many many more birthdays to come in the future.

 

On behalf of friends and family, this fund is for Leah Mease. On June 24, 2021, Leah suffered a massive brain aneurism in her right temple area, and another, three days later on the left side. Leah could not walk, talk or comprehend the seriousness of her condition.

 

Again on August 24, 2021 she suffered another setback from a cranial breakdown, when she was diagnosed with staff infection in the bone tissue of the skull. The doctors once again removed a large portion of her skull, treated the infection and replaced the damaged bone with titanium mesh. There’s still a possibility for yet another surgery if the mesh is not successful. This is a rare surgery for someone as young as Leah. Her recovery is gradual and because of the seriousness of her condition, she will not be able to support herself as a single mother or her family; all funds will be used to sustain her during rehabilitation and recovery time. (Doctors have determined this will take at least a year.)

 

We are reaching out to friends and family members during this difficult time, when her obstacles seem overwhelming. Any measure of hope we can give her will uplift and bless her life.
