Leah and I have been friends since the day I was born. We were raised together. We grew up alongside each other. We’ve kept in contact for over thirty years, even from completely different regions of California.

Leah is 35. She has no risk factors for breast cancer. In early august of this year, Leah found a lump. Within a couple of weeks, she was thrown into a new life: she was diagnosed with HER2+ breast cancer.

At this point, we don’t know what stage it is, or exactly what the treatment will be, but we do know she’s looking at 3-6 months of chemo. This means she can’t work. This means her income has been halved. She’s currently waiting for the results of a genetic test, which will determine if she needs a double mastectomy and radiation, or not.

Leah has a husband and a daughter. She needs this lifesaving treatment, and she needs to be there for her family who loves her. These funds would help her and her family get through the treatments without worrying about superfluous things like bills and groceries and gas to and from chemo.
