Help Leah Fight

Hello. As many of you know we have a spiritual son named John who lives in Tanzania with his wife Leah and their 2 small children Caleb (2) and Leanna (3m). John is a missionary working with YWAM (Youth with a Mission) bringing the gospel to the Maasai people and teaching at education workshops helping teachers to teach with God's world view).

Leah is 29 and just gave birth to Leanna 3 months ago. In the last few months Leah began to feel increasingly unwell until she was in so much pain that John took her to the doctor.

After testing it has been confirmed that Leah has advanced liver cancer due to a hidden long term infection of Hepatitis B. This as you can imagine is a shock to this young family and to all who know them.

Medical care is not the best in Tanzania when things become complicated. Leah has a matastasis to her lung and one of the lobes of her liver will most likely have to be removed. She is in the fight for her life. They are treating her Heb B infection and she is supposed to start a medication that is only available in Nairobi Kenya or 15 hrs south of where they are. John has been consulting with a cancer centre in Nairobi Kenya where the medication is available and they have suggested that they can give her the care she needs to fight this cancer. Due to her young age her prognosis is actually quite good if she can get the care and surgery she needs. Leanna has needed to switch to formula feeding because it is not safe for her to be breast feeding with the medications. This is expensive in Tanzania because formula is imported.

John has been trying to arrange an emergency passport for Leah, arrange for travel to Nairobi and thankfully they have a friend who has a house in Nairobi where John can stay. The costs for travel, testing and beginning treatment is greater than their monthly support.

We are asking if you would pray and consider giving towards this cause. We are trusting in for healing through this medical care and prayers so that Leah can see her children grow up and thrive.

The amount we are raising the estimation for travel and the beginnings of treatment. This will go directly to John through us as he has need. Any money above the goal will go towards the treatment, surgery and helping to get formula for baby Leanna. We will update as we are able. Thank you!
