Help Leah and Stephen grieve after tragic loss

Hi, my name is Laci and I am creating this fundraiser on behalf of my sister Leah and my brother in law Stephen. Many of you already know this, but Leah and Stephen found out in May that they were finally expecting their first child together. They have been trying for quite some time, despite the fact that Leah has always been told she’d never get pregnant due to PCOS and then more recently finding out she was diabetic. Against the odds, this miracle finally happened for them and we were all so very ecstatic for this baby, especially Leah and Stephen, of course.

Not even 2 weeks ago, we celebrated this baby by having a small “gender reveal party” and learning they were expecting a little boy. On Tuesday, they went in for a routine 16 week check up, and they learned their sweet little boy’s heart was no longer beating. It’s been absolutely devastating, again, especially for them. To make things even worse, she was far enough along that she actually has to be induced for labor and go through the entire, already extremely painful, process of delivering him at the hospital. She is currently in the hospital for this; I will share her most recent post here:

“I have been regretting making this post and I'm at loss of words. Most people knew we were expecting a little boy. I went in for a routine check up yesterday where the doctor was having trouble finding the heart beat, she then decided to do an ultrasound to check the heart beat but unfortunately our little guys heart was no longer beating. It has been what feels like days but also minutes since finding this out. Tomorrow, I will be in the hospital basically in labor. I'm not sure what is planned, I'm not sure why this happened and neither are the doctors. But what I am for sure is that I love my little man to no avail. This will be a difficult time for Stephen and I over the next following days, weeks, months, and even years. Please If I do not respond to a text, a call, a message on here, just know I'm not trying to ignore you, Im really just trying to live, to breathe, to get back to a new kind of normal. Also I'll be taking some time away from social media to process and gather my thoughts, so please send up some prayers, some good vibes, good juju for us in the future and in this journey now.

Due to this unexpected tragedy and loss, they have been and will be missing work/losing pay plus having a couple of unexpected expenses, all while grieving the loss of their sweet miracle baby, Adam. I am hoping we can raise some funds to help them get through this extremely difficult time and be able to give them the time they need to grieve and for Leah to physically heal as well, without having the added stress of all of the finances that don’t stop coming no matter what life throws our way. All money raised will go to Leah and Stephen to help make up for some of the missed work to pay any unexpected expenses, bills, food, etc… if you would prefer to give them a gift card for their basic needs like food, gas, or anything else of

the sort, feel free to contact me and I will find out the best way to get it to them as I know currently, they have asked for minimal texts and calls, simply because they are grieving and exhausted, not that they want to ignore anyone.

Baby Adam will be born sleeping and forever an angel baby, but he will always be in our hearts and we will not forget him. We will honor him and love him forever. thank you.
