Help Leah and Roberto Rebuild Their Life After a Fire
Donación protegida
It’s hard to even know where to begin. Our heart is broken for our dear friend Leah and her partner Roberto, who lost their home in a devastating fire on Monday, November 11. Tragically, they lost not only their house—something they poured years of hard work, love, and savings into—but also many irreplaceable belongings and, most heartbreakingly, their beloved dog Loki and cat Papito. While their other dog Melo and cat Chorizo survived, the loss of their home and their cherished pets is a tragedy that we are struggling to find the words for.
Leah has been one of the most important people in our lives. We would not be who we are today without the unfaltering love and support that Leah and her family have shown over the years. She is, without question, the bravest, hardest-working, most compassionate person we know. Leah has never hesitated to help anyone in need, and she has never been someone to ask for help herself.
For six years, Leah and Roberto worked toward their dream—saving to buy land in the Los Lagos region of Patagonia in southern Chile, building a home literally with their own hands, and creating a community in the town they fell in love with. This wasn’t just a house to them; it was their everything. It was their sanctuary, their dream, their future.
If you know Leah, you know how incredibly strong and selfless she is. Even now, she and Roberto are determined to rebuild and move forward. They’ve lost everything—including Roberto’s construction tools, which he needs for his livelihood—and have no savings left after building their home.
If you’re able to, please, *please* consider donating to help lighten their burden as they navigate this unimaginable tragedy. They deserve a chance to start again, to rebuild their home and their lives. It is hard to put a dollar value on what they lost, but we hope this will help. All donations will go through Leah's brother, Tyler.
From the bottom of our hearts, thank you for anything you can do.
