Altadena: Please Support Leah and Her Family

Leah's Story

On January 8, 2025, Leah Wright-Lewis and her family faced the unimaginable when their home in Altadena was completely destroyed by the devastating fires. With no renters’ insurance to fall back on, Leah, her son, and his father suddenly found themselves displaced and separated, staying with different friends and family members while they search for a path forward.

The fire consumed everything—their home, their belongings, and the sense of security they once had. To make matters worse, their beloved dog has recently been diagnosed with uterine cancer, adding an emotional and financial strain to an already overwhelming situation.

The Aftermath

For Leah, seeing the aftermath of the fire at “ground zero” was a surreal and heartbreaking experience. “Realizing that I can never go home again and being thrown out of my safe space overnight—it’s been devastating,” Leah shared. The grief of losing her home and everything it represented has been a heavy burden to bear.
