Help LD get top surgery!

UPDATE: 6 months after reaching my goal for fundraising, I have now had a consultation with my surgeon of choice. Unfortunately, the fee for this surgery is much higher than I had originally planned for: £11,810. For transparency, I currently have £8,166 saved, meaning I need to save £3,644, which needs to be paid in full before my surgery. I am opening this fundraiser back up, as well as hosting a big yard sale at Glasgow Zine Library on September 8.

I know so many people have donated and helped me get this far, so if you're able to share this with anyone to help me get over the finish line, I would be so appreciative.

Hello! I'm LD. I'm a zinester, dog lover, and ice cream enthusiast, and I'm raising money to help pay for top surgery.

I hope that people who are clicking on and potentially donating to a top surgery fund have an understanding of what this means and why it's necessary. I Don't think that access to this kind of healthcare should depend on sharing very private information in public. I ask that you trust me that if it were possible to come up with this sum of money on my own, I wouldn't be asking others for help.

My total goal for fundraising is £9,000. I'm not crowdfunding for the full amount because I feel confident that I am able to pay for 1/3 of this amount.

Here is a brief list of things I will joyfully do once I get top surgery:

• Lay in the park topless with an ice cream cone

• Go swimming in the ocean wearing a silly little speedo

• Look in the mirror with my hair slicked back and point finger guns at myself as I say, "hey good lookin'"

• Answer the door with a towel around my waist because the postman always comes when I’m in the bath

• Wear a white t-shirt

• Donate my old binders to a free binder service that gives them to people who have difficulty accessing them
