Help LB’s family with medical costs

For those of you who may not know, my name is Lisa Neale. I coached Lily or “LB” since she was six years old and am known as her “cool aunt” by choice. I’ve noticed that LB was always different and didn’t really “fit in” to which I always gravitate toward as a coach. I want everyone to feel like they belong. As I witnessed her grow the last 6 years, I watched her evolve in her skills. I was with her when she switched from gymnastics to cheerleading. To becoming her head coach. To watch her make friends and have a sense of belonging. I noticed her mood change; initially thinking it was typical middle school behavior, but then I started seeing the signs. If you’ve been in a sport like gymnastics, cheerleading or dance specifically, you know there is a different amount of perfectionism held as a standard. Like in any sport, you work to be the best. But those three are not just about being the best, but looking the best. Every toe pointed, core tight, chest and chin up. LB fell into a deep depression. I saw the signs of anorexia- not eating at snack time, complaining of dizziness, rapid weight loss. And then I saw the self harm marks. I met with her parents. After discussing long and hard with the family, we all agreed she needed treatment, which of course LB did not want to hear. It was middle of competition season, she just made friends, she had a big part in the routine! We ensured LB that it was only temporary. Or so we thought. LB has since been in and out of treatment since February of 2022. This sweet girl has been picked and prodded at. Attended three separate eating disorder recovery centers. Emergency visits. On and off feeding tubes. And as of last week, she attempted to take her own life. Twice. LB hasn’t felt one day of “normalcy” since February of 2022.

With all of this being said, you can imagine the bills that have been racking on her parents shoulders. LB is under 24/7 full supervision, making it very difficult for her family to get their head above water.

I took it upon myself to try and raise as much as I can for a family I hold very near and dear to my heart. They need to know how much her life is worth saving.

If you made it this far, thank you so much and you’d like to send her something for encouragement (she loves squishmallows):
