Help Layla’s road to recovery

We are crowdfunding to help support Layla and her family through this horrific time, after her major operation and now with months of physio ahead and the possibility  of other forms of treatment to go we want to help raise a little bit to help them  get by. 

 

For nearly a year Layla has been constantly unwell. 10 courses of antibiotics, a course of antivirals, 7 or 8 courses of steroids, inhalers, 3 seizures, CT scans. You name it she’s been through it!

 

On Monday 8th Nov, their world was turned upside down when beautiful Layla went to hospital for a routine MRI scan and was diagnosed with a massive brain tumour.

 

This tumour has been growing for over a year, causing her seizures. It was wrapped around the most crucial part of her brain, the part that controls movement, breathing, swallowing, the most basic human functions.

 

They have had the week from hell being told the most horrific things, told she might not make it, told that even if she did she would most likely be paralysed down one side. They were told she might not be able to breathe on her own and she might have to learn to walk and talk again.

 

On Friday 12th Nov, Layla had her surgery and she has defied every single doctor!! She’s talking, she’s moving, she’s breathing on her own with a wee bit of oxygen. She’s wanting her dummy and her juice. To put it bluntly she’s a miracle.

 

Right now we don’t know what the future holds for Layla but we do know that she’s an absolute warrior and whatever it is she’ll get through it. She’s getting stronger by the day, she’s taking everything in her stride and whatever gets thrown at her she’ll manage!
