Help Layla Fight for Her Life in ICU

Hello everyone! My name is Alissa. I don't normally do this, but I am asking for help for my best friend. About a week ago, her dog went to the vet and she had an ear infection. They put her on an oral medication along with ear drops. After a couple of days, Layla (her dog) got really sick and started puking everything up. They thought it was the medication and took her off of the oral medication. Layla continued to throw up everything she ate and drank throughout the week. They did a bland diet, rice and hamburger, which she ate a little bit of but then quit eating, so they tried soft dog food. They were able to hand-feed her little bits at a time, but she still was not eating much. On Friday, they took her back to the vet and found out Layla was in acute renal failure. Her labs were sky high, and they were sent to Eau Claire for Layla to be hospitalized. She is currently in the ICU since Friday. She needs her kidneys flushed and needs to be monitored closely with her lungs and urine output to see if they can return some of the function to her kidneys. They have ruled out many things, and the vet is really at a loss right now as to what it could be. Her labs have come down a little bit since she has been at the vet, but they are still very high. They are keeping her in the ICU again tonight to see how she does throughout the night. There is no guarantee once they get her kidney function back to normal if it will even stay there after they have her off the IV.

Layla is her baby. They just lost their other golden retriever less than a year ago. If you can find it in your heart to help my friend with this very expensive vet bill, I would truly appreciate it. They are already up to $7,300, and that is just the accrued cost through today. Any little bit will help.
