Hi everyone,

This is one of the hardest things I’ve ever had to write and I’m putting my pride to the side, but I’m asking for help for my dog, Layla.

Layla is only 7 years old, and she has been my constant—my comfort, my happiness, my soul dog. Since September 25, 2025, she has been battling diabetes, and it has completely turned our lives upside down. We were at the dog park and her blood glucose levels dropped to 34. She was stumbling, urinating and walking in circles… we knew something was wrong. She had a hyperglycemic seizure. Her blood glucose levels should be between 150-250. As a diabetic dog. What started as something we thought we could manage has become an ongoing fight just to keep her stable and safe.

Despite doing everything we can—strict routines, insulin, constant monitoring before meals and sometimes randomly—Layla’s blood sugar levels still aren’t under control. She has already been rushed to the emergency vet twice due to severe hypoglycemia AND hyperglycemia. Watching her go through that was terrifying… seeing her weak, not acting like herself, and not knowing if she was going to be okay is something I wouldn’t wish on anyone.

We’ve already spent over $4,000 trying to make her feel better and give her a chance at a normal life again. Her regular vet visits alone range around $102 for her blood glucose curves, and her most recent emergency visit was $1,500. On top of that, there’s insulin, syringes, glucose testing supplies, prescription food, and medications—costs that don’t stop and continue to grow every single week.

As much as I hate to say it, this is taking a serious toll on us financially. We are now struggling to keep up not only with Layla’s medical expenses, but also with our own bills. We’ve stretched everything as far as we can because she means that much to us—but we are reaching a point where we simply can’t do it alone anymore.

Layla is still full of love. She still greets us, still wants to be close, still trusts us to take care of her. And we are trying so hard not to fail her.
