Original post: Hello, my name is Amanda and I'm trying to raise funds to get my partner Layla out of an abusive home situation and into a safe place. She's been facing emotional and psychological abuse for at least 10 years, and recently the abuse has escalated to the point her physical safety may be in danger. Funds raised will be put towards passport and visa fees, shipping costs for her belongings, and flight costs to get her to the United States from the United Kingdom. Anything over our goal will be put towards helping her find mental health help and counseling to begin her recovery.

The donations will be used as follows:

Amanda Passport (including expedition fee):

$211.36 (money order to us state dept) + $35 (agency processing fee)

Layla Passport: £207.50 ($266.75 at time of writing)

Layla Visitor Visa: $185

Flight there for Amanda (depart 9/10, arrive 9/11, dates flexible):

$1018 (delta, w/ 1 check bag and seat choice)

Flight back for both (depart 9/16, arrive 9/16, 1hr layover in Reykjavik):

$1960 (icelandair, w/ 1 check bag each and seat choice)

Additional incidental money (train/taxi, food, etc): $500

Hotel cost (if necessary):

$586 (Southgate hotel London, hotels.com listing)

Subtotal: $4727.11

Shipping all of Layla's things, assuming we are able to get them all, shouldn't be more than £1000 ($1285.55 USD at time of writing)

As stated in the main body, funding beyond that listed in this breakdown is intended to assist with getting Layla situated and assisting with costs relating to finding her therapy.
