Help Laya and Kate
Donation protected
I know Kate wouldn’t ask for help herself, but I wanted to do this on her behalf because she and Laya mean so much.
Laya has been battling bile vomiting for 4 years. It has been hard on her but she pushed through and remained happy. The vet nutritionist told her it's food allergies and they tried a diet which helped for 3 months, but the vomiting came back. On February 5th Laya started refusing food, began throwing up bile multiple times and was rushed to the clinic. Tests showed chronic pancreatitis which is life threatening. It required hospitalization and after numerous days in the clinic, blood tests, ultrasounds, cat scans and finally an endoscopic biopsy, they got the diagnosis—gastric adenocarcinoma, an aggressive and painful form of stomach cancer.
There is no cure, it is inoperable and chemo is not an option. My friend's only goal now is to make sure Laya feels loved while keeping her dignity and comfort. But the costs are very high and keep adding up—vet visits, medications, blood tests, special food, supplements and vitamin B12 injections are becoming overwhelming.
Laya struggles 24/7 from her stomach hurting. She vomits daily 1-3 times and yet still finds the strength to carry on. She's a fighter!
I am asking for your help, for the chance to give Laya gentle, pain-free days for the time she has left. Every donation, no matter how small, will go toward her care, keeping her nourished, comfortable, and feeling safe.
Thank you
