On Friday, July 25th, 2025, our mother, grandmother, and the heartbeat of our family, Yvonne Marie Lognion, passed away at the age of 73. Born in Lake Charles, Louisiana, on July 3rd, 1952, Yvonne was a fiery, joyful soul who loved dancing, Cajun cooking, and being surrounded by her grandchildren. She lit up every room she walked into—if Yvonne was there, you knew it.

She was a proud graduate of LaGrange Senior High School, class of 1970, and worked for many years at Northrop Grumman in Lake Charles.

Yvonne is survived by her daughters, Kendra Gates (with husband Robert Gates and their son Noah) and Monica Lognion (with husband Aaron Hughes and their sons Nicolas and Dylan). She was preceded in death by her brothers, Richard Motte and Larry Motte.

We are raising funds to help Kendra and Monica cover the funeral and burial costs as we prepare to lay Yvonne to rest in her hometown of Lake Charles. The funeral will be held there, with arrangements through Johnson Funeral Home. While flowers may be sent directly to the funeral home, we kindly ask that donations be made through this GoFundMe to help ease the financial burden on the family.
